Audi Snook-The One-Wheeled Car With A Brain

Get out of the way, everybody! Here comes the one-wheeled Audi Snook. Maybe this auto-stabilized monowheel design concept isn’t such a bad idea, though, because it won German student Tilmann Schlootz a Michelin Challenge Design Award 2008 at this year’s Detroit Auto Show.

How the heck does this lightbulb-shaped vehicle with a trackball wheel underneath stay upright? “Agility through instability, controlled by artificial intelligence — that is my formal issue,” answers designer Schlootz. Looks like a carnival ride to us. Let’s hope that artificial intelligence does the driving, too. [via DVICE]

Guy Proposes via Hacked Video Game

Bernie Ping is a computer programmer that proposed to his girlfriend Tammy Li by hacking her favorite game, Bejeweled. After she reached a certain score a special screen with the message popped up, and she said yes. PopCap, the maker of the game, was surprisingly unpissed (companies typically discourage hacking their games), and is even flying the couple to Seattle as part of their honeymoon and handing out copies of the game to wedding guests.
