Meet The Pregnant Man!

I know this is a little off topic considering the style of mosts of the stories posted here, but I figured the first pregnant “man” is a relevant story. Thomas Beatie is six-months pregnant! The father-to-be is happy, healthy and explaining how this is even possible. Oprah will be doing a special on her show with Thomas and his wife. Thomas and his wife open up about the secret they’ve been hiding for months.This should make an interesting discussion. Is the WORLD ready?

Knight Rider Remote Control Car

 

After 20 years, the Knight Rider R/C Car is finally here and exclusively on Firebox.com. It is a full-on remote control car complete with a “turbo-boost” function and whooshing sound, while the classic red sensor on the hood actually works! Incorporating the utilitarian bicycle, the wheels have been replaced with special wheels outfitted with 8 pairs of separate sneakers. Watch the bike Fred Flinstone-esque bike in action, sort of.

Buy Scott Storch’s Yacht on eBay

Whenever a celebrity tries to sell something expensive on eBay there’s always speculation as to motives, but here’s a case where it’s pretty obvious what the deal is: music producer Scott Storch is short on cash. He’s selling his yacht, called “Tiffany,” on eBay for well under its $20 million value (per Rolling Stone magazine) because apparently he can’t afford to keep it anymore. As of right now it’s going for just under $1,000,000. What a deal.

I’m no eBaying expert but I’m not sure it’s such a great sales technique to display in big bold letters “THE BOAT IS BEING SOLD UNDER DISTRESS ,OWNER BOUGHT HER AND NOW GOT SHORT ON MONEY.” Seems more than a little on the tacky side, and hardly inspires the celebrity “cool” factor that might help it sell for more.

UPDATE: Bidding has ended at $1,000,101, that’s a fair amount of cash but not enough to meet the reserve, looks like Storch is going to have to try again. A new bidding war has begun and is at 2.5 million.

Diamond iPod Auctioned Off For Charity

The world’s most expensive MP3 player, Diamond iPod, was recently auctioned off at the Feast of Albion charity event in London. Handcrafted by Norweigan jeweller Thomas Heyerdahl the piece is one-of-a-kind. The ipod shuffle and accompanying earphones are bedecked in 18K white and pink gold with 430 diamonds which is estimated to be worth £20,000. With only one made and no sign of them being produced commercially the glamorous iPod is quite the exclusive item…just surprised they didn’t use the larger iPod versions. Imagine paying that much money for an MP3 player that can’t even hold more than a few of your favorite CD’s of music!

Man Plays Burning Piano

Yosuke Yamashita, a famous pianist came to the conclusion that playing a piano while its not on fire is no longer an entertaining way of passing the time. So on the 8th of March he put on a spiffy fireproof suit and played a burning piano on the beach. There he played a dazzling improvised jazz performance for ten minutes before the piano was no longer able to play. The Gods of old in Valhalla were all in tears after such an awe inspiring performance.

However, this performance was not his first. In fact he preformed a similar one in 1973, lucky for him it was made into a film, which can be seen here. Unfortunately, this isn’t the entire performance, just a sliver of it. However, his message is clear, play the best piano solo while you can, because sooner or later it will be unplayable.

Largest White Diamond To Be Actioned

The yet to be named squash-ball sized, 101-carat diamond is the biggest white diamond to be auctioned in nearly two decades.

The gem that has been cut from a 460-carat South African rough stone is expected to fetch over US $6 million.
