Nike AF1 “Rainbow” Pack

We present you the Nike AF1 “Rainbow” Pack. We labeled it that way, because it reminds us of the recent Freestyle Rainbow pack by Reebok.

The Air Force 1’s come in three colorways and all panels of the shoes come in the same colorway, including the soles and laces. Hopefully they add some more colors to the line-up. These are now available at Provider. [via High Snobiety]

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Orca”

28 03 2008

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme “Orca”

Since its recent inception into the Air Force 1, Supreme models have created a more contemporary styling for the 25+ year old sneaker. The use of a visible air bubble has often been the distinguishing factor on Nike’s more expensive and higher performing models from its more economical models. But over the years, the popularity of the AF1 has shown that the AF1s original design was popular enough to sustain such strong interest. This upcoming release from AF1 features a colorway similar to the Nike Orca Pack of Dunks released a few years back with a similar albeit flipped use of black and white. No word yet on an official release from Nike.

Lupe Fiasco Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

26 03 2008

Lupe Fiasco Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

Most likely a hype building move by Converse, quality pictures have surfaced of a Lupe Fiasco designed All Star which is allegedly not slated for release. The shiny patent upper was conceived with the (Product) Red humanitarian theme in mind which correlates with the subtle use of red highlights. As mentioned, no release date is expected for these joints.

Lupe was performing at the Dr. Romanelli’s 1Hund[RED] Artists shoe launch in LA about a month ago, there was also mention of his own Converse shoe under the Product [RED] line. Converse reports on them today, they are a full black patent leather All Star High with red accents and a white sole. No mention on availability yet.

Benihana “Hibachi” x adidas Gil II Zero

19 03 2008

Benihana “Hibachi”

“Hibachi”, the one word catchphrase was impulsively yelled by Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas and would eventually go on to be an often used catch phrase representing his favorite restaurant chain, Benihana. Despite Gilbert Arenas’ notable on-court absence, adidas has continued with many themed releases seen on his Gil II Zero model. These will be available March 23rd. Thank you Hypebeast for the heads up.

Bored of your generic store-bought shoes?

2 03 2008

When I saw Matt Francois from Sole Brother Custom Sneakers latest creations, I was instantly intrigued. He creates very inventive designs that are both beautiful and durable and look as if the shoe was manufactured that way. They are the kind of shoes that immediately attract attention.

The process of getting custom sneakers is a little more involved than a quick trip to the shoe store but the results are unique. When he designs shoes he provides customers with a computer generated mock-up for approval. Each custom design is hand done and after it is finished, they coat the shoe with a protective layer which resists water and physical damage. The shoes costs between $400 – $700 which includes the design fee, the base shoe, and free shipping. They specialize in sneakers but can customize high heels, hand bags, belts, wallets, and anything else made of leather or other similar materials.

Adidas Begins Offering Custom-Fit Shoes

29 02 2008

You’ve heard the saying, if the shoe fits, wear it. Now, Adidas is hoping a new idea in footwear will give customers the perfect fit every time.

MI Adidas

A machine at the Adidas signature store in San Francisco’s Westfield Mall will measure your shoe size down to one tenth of a millimeter. Customers can also customize the shoe’s comfort level, along with the style. The custom made shoes take 3-6 weeks to make and add $45-60 to the cost.

“Our adidas Sport Performance Stores are an important communication platform where we can showcase the breadth and depth of the adidas brand while offering consumers a unique and innovative setting with specialty services including the new “mi Innovation Center,” said Karen Feldpausch-Sturm, Senior Vice President of Global Retail for adidas. “The “mi Innovation Center” will change the way consumers shop and their expectations at retail. It is a true first and we are thrilled to premier the mIC in Paris offering customers a whole new dimension of interaction with adidas products.”
